FNB participated in Geneseo’s 1st annual Scarecrow Row on October 31, 2020! There were over 150 scarecrow entries along with goody bags for the kids. Pictured above are FNB employees and scarecrow creators, Amanda Bechtel and Dani Dewey.
FNB held their annual employee pumpkin decorating contest during the month of October. FNB employees volunteered to decorate a pumpkin and the employee with the most votes from customers selected a local charity to receive $100. Tonia DeLong was the winner from the Geneseo Office and pictured above is her creation. Tonia selected Foster Hope – Atkinson/Geneseo to receive the donation!
During third quarter 2020, the FNB Geneseo Office collected monetary donations for our Saturday Charity Jean Days for the Geneseo VFW’s Local Veterans Honor Flights program. Pictured above is FNB employee Theresa Klotz presenting a check for $349 to Joe Bedford with the VFW!
One of the local charities to receive monetary and tangible item donations from our Charity Jean Days during third quarter 2020, was WQUD Vintage Radio’s We Care Package Drive for our troops. In 2018 the Rebuilding Together board determined the need of a permanent location. The single new site will replace six or seven other locations where they are currently using office, storage and workspace, some donated and some rental. Rebuilding is looking forward to a “place of our own”.

Henry County, You Bowled Us Over!
FNB Geneseo office employees participated in the 2020 JA Bowl A-Thon at Lee’s Lanes on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Because of events like this, Henry County students will benefit from JA programs this school year. In addition to our regular monthly Charity Jean Day, FNB employees have an option to also wear jeans on Saturdays by donating to local organizations. Donated items are distributed to local organizations throughout the year as designated on a quarterly basis by each FNB Office. During the fourth quarter 2019, each FNB Office collected items for the local humane societies. The FNB Geneseo Office donated items and $428.00 to the Henry County Humane Society. Those items along with a cash donation of $361 were donated to WQUD-FM Vintage Radio station out of Erie, Illinois who head up the We Care Packages program to send the items to the troops in December! FNB once again proudly sponsored United Way’s Power of the Purse Fundraiser on September 26, 2019. This event raises funds for the L.I.F.E (Literacy is Fun for Everyone) program which provides books at no cost to every child from newborn to age 5 in Whiteside County. The event raised over $30,000! FNB also had strong representation at the event held at Deer Valley Country Club. On Friday, August 30, 2019, FNB held their third annual Grab & Go Customer Appreciation Lunch. Each FNB office served 300 – 400 patrons. The free lunch included a sandwich, chips, cookie, and a water in an insulated FNB lunch bag.
On Saturday, April 20, 2019, FNB hosted a Free Shred Day at all three FNB Offices. Prophetstown shredded 7,000 pounds, Geneseo shredded 6,025 pounds and Morrison shredded 4,890 pounds of paper! It was a beautiful Spring day for the event and we appreciate everyone who stopped by with their shred.
Farmers National Bank recently donated $20,000 to the Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation for the Emergency Department renovation project. According to HHH Foundation manager Darcy Hepner, "we are excited to announce that we have exceeded our goal and are currently at $603,000 and still accepting donations." The construction is well on its way with completion slated for the fall of 2019.

On Monday April 8, 2019, FNB Geneseo employees (pictured) enjoyed a Superhero themed evening for the Hammond Henry Foundation 16th Annual Celebrity Dinner at the Cellar Restaurant in Geneseo. Over $40,000.00 was raised during the evening event! FNB's donated package also pictured above went for $2,000. Funds raised will go toward equipment needs in the Emergency Department (currently under renovation and expansion).

FNB’s Geneseo Office participated in Geneseo’s Annual Christmas Walk with the theme ‘Flannel and Frost’ on December 8, 2018. FNB’s constructed a forest float which featured a large tree with plaid decorations in the center. The parade had a wonderful turnout and FNB won third place!
