In addition to our regular monthly Charity Jean Day, Farmers National Bank employees have an option to also wear jeans on Saturdays by donating to local organizations. Donated items are distributed to local organizations throughout the year as designated on a quarterly basis by each FNB Office. During the third quarter of 2019, each FNB Office collected items for the troops. Those items along with a cash donation of $361 were donated to WQUD-FM Vintage Radio station out of Erie, Illinois who head up the We Care Packages program to send the items to the troops in December! FNB once again proudly sponsored United Way’s Power of the Purse Fundraiser on September 26, 2019. This event raises funds for the L.I.F.E (Literacy is Fun for Everyone) program which provides books at no cost to every child from newborn to age 5 in Whiteside County. The event raised over $30,000! FNB also had strong representation at the event held at Deer Valley Country Club. On Friday, August 30, 2019, FNB held their third annual Grab & Go Customer Appreciation Lunch. Each FNB office served 300 – 400 patrons. The free lunch included a sandwich, chips, cookie, and a water in an insulated FNB lunch bag.
On Saturday, April 20, 2019, FNB hosted a Free Shred Day at all three FNB Offices. Prophetstown shredded 7,000 pounds, Geneseo shredded 6,025 pounds and Morrison shredded 4,890 pounds of paper! It was a beautiful Spring day for the event and we appreciate everyone who stopped by with their shred.
Farmers National Bank recently donated $20,000 to the Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation for the Emergency Department renovation project. According to HHH Foundation manager Darcy Hepner, "we are excited to announce that we have exceeded our goal and are currently at $603,000 and still accepting donations." The construction is well on its way with completion slated for the fall of 2019.

On Monday April 8, 2019, FNB Geneseo employees (pictured) enjoyed a Superhero themed evening for the Hammond Henry Foundation 16th Annual Celebrity Dinner at the Cellar Restaurant in Geneseo. Over $40,000.00 was raised during the evening event! FNB's donated package also pictured above went for $2,000. Funds raised will go toward equipment needs in the Emergency Department (currently under renovation and expansion).

FNB’s Geneseo Office participated in Geneseo’s Annual Christmas Walk with the theme ‘Flannel and Frost’ on December 8, 2018. FNB’s constructed a forest float which featured a large tree with plaid decorations in the center. The parade had a wonderful turnout and FNB won third place!

On September 8, 2018, FNB sponsored the trophy and selected our favorite automobile at the Trains, Planes and Automobiles event in down Geneseo. Pictured here is winner Les Strole with FNB employee Steve Taets. Steve selected Les’ 66 Dodge Coronet Hemi as his favorite automobile at the event. Les was thrilled, stating after 52 years in storage it was a day of celebration for a one of kind vehicle.
On September 10, 2018, FNB employees Nick Emmerson, Nick Volckmann, Garett Plumley, and Steve Taets participated in and sponsored the trophies for the Hammond Henry Hospital Foundation golf outing.
On September 17, 2018, FNB employees Nick Volckmann, Nick Emmerson, Mike Urish, and Steve Taets participated in the 30th Annual Russell Charity Golf Outing. This outing raised $50,000 for Gabe’s All-Inclusive Play Village.

On June 7, 2018, FNB employees, Nick Volckmann, Mike Urish, Steve Taets, and Brandt Hutchcraft, participated in the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing held at Sugar Maple Golf Club.
On April 27, 2018, FNB employees, Nick Emmerson and Theresa Klotz, participated in the Geneseo Senior Expo at the Geneseo Community Center. The Expo featured local vendors, big band music, bingo and more. Nick and Theresa visited with attendees all morning long.
On March 9, 2018, Hanford Insurance co-hosted a Farmer Update Meeting with FNB at Lavender Crest Winery. There were three featured presenters: Mike Pearson, co-host of “Ag News Daily”, Mark Gold, founder of Top Third Ag Marketing, and Eric Snodgrass, Ph.D., Atmospheric Scientist for the University of Illinois. Customers received valuable information and a fantastic lunch!
Junior Achievement of the Heartland held their annual bowl-a-thon in Geneseo on Saturday, February 3. Participating from FNB Geneseo were Tina, Theresa, Gina, Nick, Steve and his wife Kendra.
